Jamie Kane for BBC
Jamie Kane was a pioneering alternate reality game developed by Matt for the BBC at a time when they were trying to reach more teenagers. Based on his original idea and script, the game involved the mystery of a missing pop star, Jamie Kane – sort of Robbie Williams meets Jamie from the Manics. Players were immersed in a world populated with convincingly crafted fake websites, videos and an album of songs written and recorded for the game. Conversing with chat-bots, they became fully engaged characters in the story, solving daily clues to find out what had happened to Mr Kane.
